Webcam controlled motion

I started playing around a little more with my webcam and extended my previous webcam motion detection example - this time to control the camera of a virtual 3-D space from motion detected in the user’s webcam. It detects motion area and general direction, albeit with dubious accuracy, but you get the idea.

Due to popular demand, I’ve posted the source code for you lot to play with. It contains the FlashDevelop project file (it’s compiled with the flex 3 sdk) and my cut-down 3-D engine, Pant3D :)

    Hi,

That’s cool! I’ve been playing around with the some webcam motion detection and physics intergration with ape. I’ve got the hit testing working so I can bounce balls off peoples but I want to get it going with some more motion detection so I can set angles and make it a bit more interactive.

An chance of getting a squizz at your source for that example?

    Hi,

That’s cool! I’ve been playing around with some webcam motion detection in as3 and intergrating it with the ape physics package. I’ve got it working well but would be great to get some direction mapping going so it can be more interactive than bouncing a ball off your head.

have you got the source for that example up anywhere? would be great to have a look
